Gyaru BOOM During Quarantine

    Quarantine. Even the word itself can be scary. This is probably not something that any of us have ever had to go through before. I don't know about any of you, but this has been a time of uncertainty, fear, and confusion for me. To be a part of something so global, it just feels...well, scary!
    But something beautiful has come out of this, as well. The gaijin gyaru community is thriving! With the creation of the 109 gyaru discord server, the TikTok collaborations floating around, and livestreams and GRWM streams going on, it really feels like we are all in this together. I have made so many new friends in this time of global pandemic, and I am so grateful. These gals are so amazing!!!

    Here are some ways that you could get involved, or practice your gal looks during this time!

1. Join the 109 gyaru discord server! Message me on Instagram (nefariouslycute) and I can send you an invite! It has channels for general chatting, for hair and makeup advice, and for a ton of substyles!! Even clubs for anime gals, kpop gals, and parapara gals!
2. Join TikTok! @magazinepapillon on TikTok has all kinds of videos you can watch to get fun ideas! Team up with a friend and duet each other's videos for extra fun!
3. Check out other gal Instagrams to see who will be doing livestreams! It's a great way to get to know gals you don't know well, and to get inspired.
4. Take this time to look up gyaru makeup and hair tutorials on YouTube, or blogs! I've included YouTube channels and blog links in the photos below, so check those out for inspiration!
5. Try out a new style! Have you always worn himekaji? Try out a manba tutorial! Maybe you always wear oldschool styles, you could try rokku! Have fun and experiment and see if something else sparks your interest as well!
